A block plane is a smallhand plane for woodworking which typically has the blade bedded at a lower angle than other planes, with the bevel up. It is designed to cut end grain and is typically of small or medium size enough to be used with one hand.
A block plane is a key to versatility in your woodworking workshop. You can flatten a piece of wood and add a curve to it. You can Shape or chamfer your stock using a block plane.
